Pregnant Girl Struck; Thonotosassa Woman Jailed
A Thonotosassa woman struck a pregnant 15-year-old and two other children, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Mara Franklin, 53, who lives with the children, was arrested Saturday at home. When arrested, she was verbally combative and slurring her speech, an arrest report states.
She was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery on a pregnant person and two felony counts of child abuse.
The other children are an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Franklin remains in Orient Road Jail. Bail was set Sunday at $7,500.

thats an ugly drunk there. ever occur to anyone that if she would have smacked that girl years ago she might not be pregnant today.
