Meet a hero

Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed while serving as an usher at his Wichita, Kansas, church Sunday morning, according to police. Tiller was one of the few U.S. physicians who still perform late-term abortions. He had survived a 1993 shooting outside his clinic.

Tiller had practiced medicine for nearly 40 years, said Peter Brownlie, president of the Kansas City-based regional Planned Parenthood office.
The doctor and his staff had been picketed for years, with some activists distributing leaflets around his neighborhood, Brownlie said. His clinic suffered serious damage from a bomb in 1985, and he was shot through both arms in 1993 by an anti-abortion activist who is now in federal prison. Fifteen years ago, Tiller's name appeared atop a "hit list" that was circulated among pro-life militants, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Witnesses provided a description of the gunman's car and a license plate number, said Wichita police spokesman Gordon Bassham. Police stopped a blue Ford Taurus matching the description about three hours later in Gardner, about 30 miles southwest of Kansas City, and arrested the driver.

Scott Roeder, 51, from the Kansas City, Kansas, area is being held without bond in the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility, according to the sheriff's office Web site. In addition to the murder charge, he also faces two counts of aggravated assault. Police said they believe he acted alone.
"This is a tragedy for the Tiller family. We feel so badly about that," Clarence Roeder, the suspect's uncle, said in a statement provided to CNN affiliate KMBC. "That Scott would murder the doctor in the Lutheran Church. We are also Lutherans, and it adds a double touch of sadness and irony."

AT LEAST SOMEONE IN THAT FAMILY HAS HALF A BRAIN......NOW FOR SOMEONE WITHOUT A BRAIN

A man named Scott Roeder was convicted in 1996 of criminal use of explosives and sentenced to 24 months probation, Topeka, Kansas, authorities told CNN.
Around that time, Regina Dinwiddie, a 54-year-old grandmother, met Roeder and got to know him as a regular outside abortion clinics, she said.
Dinwiddie said that in 1996 she and Roeder were protesting at a Kansas Planned Parenthood center and that Roeder went inside and demanded to see the doctor. When the doctor came into the lobby, Roeder approached him and said, "Now I know what you look like," she told CNN.
"Scott came out and told us that he had done that, and we all said, 'Scott, you better leave or they are gonna get after you,'" Dinwiddie said. "Next thing, all these people come rushing out of the place, all worried. Scott was standing up for what he believed in."
"Absolutely, what happened to Tiller was justified," the grandmother said. "He [Tiller] forfeited his life by taking the lives of innocent children."

this doctor was a hero. i know, i'm going to hell (see ya there). ok, i get it, your against abortion. you shouldnt be killed for it just as this doctor shouldnt be killed for what he did. it was legal. i know that you might think that your invisible "guy in the sky" is against it but wasnt one of the commandments that he preached though shall not kill. i dont remember any fine print on the tablets. didnt he also say judge not lest ye be judged? i ,on the other hand , am not beholden to any imaginary "guy in the sky" so i think that when one makes a stink around the water hole that you just club him and get on with your life. scott roeder should be taken out in the woods and a bullet put in his head. no trial, no nothin. lets save the taxpayers some scratch. it seems like nobody has a good thing to say about him ....except for.......mrs. dinwiddie (or should we call her dimwittie. this knucklehead says that this killing was justified. oh, why cant we be like the eskimoes. when one of their old folks starts talking crazy they put them out on a ice floe and let nature take its course. this woman may be retarded. obviously her family doesnt want her around or she wouldnt be out protesting abortion clinics.
so i'm sure that scott roeder and mrs dimwitted think they are great christians (and maybe they are) and thats why i dont like to be called a christian. this cant be what god intended and if it is why would anyone whos sane want to be involved in it. this doctor helped women out when no one else would. he started this when his father turned down a woman and she died during a back alley abortion (i'm sure you good christians think thats gods will too). he said his lifes story would be written by the woman he helped.
by the way roeder dont think your better than he was. he did late term abortions and you aborted him in 152nd trimester. oh, and mrs dimwitted, your not off the hook either....you think he was justified. i can only hope there is a special place in hell for both of you.

"Woman bites lover's penis off in car crash"

A boss and his secretary who were having an affair saw their romantic tryst interrupted in a wince-inducing manner - after a car crash led her to accidentally bite his penis off.
According to reports in China Press and Sin Chew Daily, the 30-year-old woman was performing oral sex on her boss in a car in a Singapore park, when the car was struck by a reversing van.
The impact caused her to bite the man's penis off.
Just in case this wasn't already bad enough for those involved, the incident was observed by a private detective who had been sent by the woman's husband to catch them out.
He described how, shortly after parking, the car started to 'shake violently' - but then was hit by the van. He said that the woman screamed loudly, with her mouth covered in blood.
Helpfully, the investigator called an ambulance to take the man to hospital. His lover followed him there, with part of his penis.
The investigator said he's never seen an incident like it before.

‘Missing link’ primate likely to stir debate

A discovery of a 47 million-year-old fossil primate that is said to be a human ancestor was announced and unveiled Tuesday at a press conference in New York City.
Known as "Ida," the nearly complete transitional fossil is 20 times older than most fossils that provide evidence for human evolution.
It shows characteristics from the very primitive non-human evolutionary line (prosimians, such as lemurs), but is more related to the human evolutionary line (anthropoids, such as monkeys, apes and humans), said Norwegian paleontologist Jørn Hurum of the University of Oslo Natural History Museum. However, she is not really an anthropoid either, he said.

The fossil, called Darwinius masillae and said to be a female, provides the most complete understanding of the paleobiology of any primate so far discovered from the Eocene Epoch, Hurum said. An analysis of the fossil mammal is detailed Tuesday in the journal PLoS ONE.
"This is the first link to all humans ... truly a fossil that links world heritage," Hurum said.
Here is some context for the age of the new primate fossil: Anatomically modern humans (Homo sapiens) first emerged about 200,000 years ago, but early humans such as Australopithecus afarensis and Australopithecus anamensis reach back 3 million to 4 million years ago or even earlier. Humans are thought to have split off from a group that includes chimpanzees and gorillas about 6 million years ago. And a group that includes all the great apes (including us) and Old World monkeys (called simians or anthropoids) diverged from New World monkeys in the Eocene, just after the time of Ida. So our primate roots reach back to this time.

This village in texas isnt missing their idiot......

Lawmaker defends comment on Asians
Call for voters to simplify their names not racially motivated, Terrell Republican says.

AUSTIN — A North Texas legislator during House testimony on voter identification legislation said Asian-descent voters should adopt names that are “easier for Americans to deal with.”
The comments caused the Texas Democratic Party on Wednesday to demand an apology from state Rep. Betty Brown, R-Terrell. But a spokesman for Brown said her comments were only an attempt to overcome problems with identifying Asian names for voting purposes.
The exchange occurred late Tuesday as the House Elections Committee heard testimony from Ramey Ko, a representative of the Organization of Chinese Americans.
Ko told the committee that people of Chinese, Japanese and Korean descent often have problems voting and other forms of identification because they may have a legal transliterated name and then a common English name that is used on their driver’s license on school registrations.
Easier for voting?
Brown suggested that Asian-Americans should find a way to make their names more accessible.
“Rather than everyone here having to learn Chinese — I understand it’s a rather difficult language — do you think that it would behoove you and your citizens to adopt a name that we could deal with more readily here?” Brown said.
Brown later told Ko: “Can’t you see that this is something that would make it a lot easier for you and the people who are poll workers if you could adopt a name just for identification purposes that’s easier for Americans to deal with?”
Democratic Chairman Boyd Richie said Republicans are trying to suppress votes with a partisan identification bill and said Brown “is adding insult to injury with her disrespectful comments.”
Brown spokesman Jordan Berry said Brown was not making a racially motivated comment but was trying to resolve an identification problem.
Berry said Democrats are trying to blow Brown’s comments out of proportion because polls show most voters support requiring identification for voting. Berry said the Democrats are using racial rhetoric to inflame partisan feelings against the bill.
“They want this to just be about race,” Berry said.

wouldnt it just be easier to teach texans to read. ok, i stole that line but it doesnt make it less funny. A texas republican making racially insulting statements....say it aint so. what a douche she is (i guess you could just look at the picture and see that). and really, how hard is it to say the asain guys name. its ko. i think they should all take the name betty brown.

Meet an asshole

Friends described a Richard Poplawski far different from the 22-year-old man accused of gunning down three police officers today -- a partier sometimes, a guy in search of an understanding of politics, even a walking comedian.
He was also convinced that the government wanted to take away his guns and his freedom.

"I've known this kid my entire life and he was a good kid. He never had bad intentions. He never spoke about harming anybody," said Edward Perkovic, a lifelong friend who had known Mr. Poplawski since the two paired up at a daycare.
Mr. Poplawski attended Immaculate Conception elementary school and moved on to North Catholic High School. A spokesman for the high school today said that he was expelled, but declined to state a reason.
Mr. Perkovic said his friend stopped attending classes so he could take get his General Educational Development certificate then join the Marine Corps.
Records indicate that Mr. Poplawski was dishonorably discharged from the corps during basic training. Friends said he wanted out so he could rejoin his girlfriend.
When that relationship failed, Mr. Poplawski moved for two years to Florida where he worked as a glazier, helping to asemble and replace windows. He returned here in 2006 or 2007.
Mr. Poplawski collaborated with Mr. Perkovic on an Internet show that featured clips --- sometimes from local news broadcasts, other times video from around the town --- where they discussed politics.
Mr. Poplawski lived with his mother and grandmother in Stanton Heights. Friends said his parents had split years ago and that his father "was totally out of the picture."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
wow, i cant stay away from this asshole. lets get this straight...
1. he was afraid that obama would take away his guns
2. so he shot three cops
i guess in his twisted little mind this makes sense. well heres the scoop. he exactly the kind of guy that should have his guns taken away. he had an ak47. why should anyone in this country be allowed to own an automatic weapon? now i know you fuckin nra guys are going to scream that its your god given right. well guess what...its not. the smart men who wrote the constitution never envisioned automatic weapons. they didnt want a government taking away their hunting rifles so please save your posts (i could write your posts and i could do it better).
this asswipe shouldnt be given a trial. he should be taken out in the woods and someone should put a 22 round in the back of his skull. no burial either...just let the animals take care of him.
and why is there always somone who says he was a good kid. heres a clue...no he wasnt. he was expelled from high school, dishonorably discharged from the marine corp (they clearly saw he was nuts), fired from his job, living at home with his mom......need any more?
i guess the bottom line is that you cant stop these ticking timebombs from going off, just make sure they arent on your porch when they do.
if they have trouble finding someone to stick the needle in his arm call me, i got the time.
i hope he has a special place in hell with charlton heston.
